Not long after lunch, on Saturday, September 30, 2017, ADC hosted a launch party to thank those who have helped us get this far and to invite others to join in on the effort. The support from so many friends and family is invaluable; it only makes sense to throw a party in their honor.
The main highlight of the night was Shaney’s presentation of her efforts as founder of the Keep a Breast Foundation and the work that ADC is doing behind the scenes to help them improve their new mobile application. Our goal is to help educate women about prevention, early detection, and treatment of breast cancer. The 5-year relative survival rate for women with stage 0 or stage I breast cancer is close to 100%. For women with stage II breast cancer, the 5-year relative survival rate is about 93%. The 5-year relative survival rate for stage III breast cancers is about 72%. But often, women with these breast cancers can be successfully treated. After stage III the chances of survival plummet. We must find ways to prevent, detect, and treat cancer early.
Thank you to those who were able to attend. We know you all have many priorities, and your support means the world to us.
Lastly, a big thank you to Castro Produce & Catering who provided hand-made chicken and beef tacos, corn tortillas, salsa, guacamole, queso fresco, and churros with ice cream. The lime, cilantro, custom blend of spices, and Herm’s service made for a fantastic meal experience and the best tacos this far North of the border.
